The Singapore strategy is basically to screw those who cannot help it, give up on those who can (and do) leave and import people to replace them by offering them great terms (better than those given to locals - since locals don’t have a choice but foreigners do).

If I am not doing my part time studies, RT can be considered killing time, but since I am doing my part time studies, RT is literally wasting my time.

As in an internation or globalised nation, the thinking must be universal and comparable to others in the world.
At one time, the Govt was worried of S’porean leaving S’pore for good or better land but after some thought, S’porean are encouraged to move out and have a direct feel for themselves to realise the differences in life and to do their own judgement to stay out or to move back. As mentioned Taiwan experienced the same thing in the early development of the island but many came back to set up the silicon valley of their own at Shimen Dam area and flourish in concept.

Take a look and read up on the development of S’pore for the past 43 yrs and compare to others that till now is still in their infant stage. It is all individual choice to pick the right points to consider or just to throw whatever good to one side because of self believe that they are no good.

I think a lot of guys especially share the same sentiment BUT the problem is our views are not really taken in consideration anymore (except during election).

In army, we LL have to suck thumb BUT do we have to do that for the life we’re suppose to live. I hate to think about migrating when I spent 20 yrs here with so many of my friends.

Haha looks like we’re all jealous that our “mother” is adopting new children and giving them an equal amount of what we have even though they wasn’t there for our “mother” when she needed someone to protect her? Now we are mad at our “mother”?

Yeah I agree. I’m mad at our “mother” too. Why does she love these adopted children equally as us? Why does she even need these adopted children and wants us to call them brothers and sisters?

So what can we, the true brothers and sisters, do?

2.5years is a lot of time. ICTs till we’re middle-aged is a hassle. BUT it’s worth the sweat and time if it’s for the defense of my country - a country that reciprocates my sacrifices.

By giving away PR and citizenship to individuals who have little (if any) vested interests in this country is a spit in the face of our sacrifices.

All male Singaporeans have sacrificed years - some literally sacrificed their lives - for NS. Giving away the right to live and work here in a fire sale is not reciprocation.

All this is on top of the fact that my views don’t matter in the running of my country.

It makes me wanna leave.
