Is mature guy what women are really looking for?

July 30th, 2007

Been hearing times and times again that women are looking for mature man. Even though I’m a monk and shouldn’t be talking about all these but curiosity really prompt me to investigate what really contribute to a man that is mature in the eyes of the woman. Is it really mature guys they are looking for or is it something else?

According to dictionary.com, mature means a person that has a fully developed in body or mind. So I guess age is an factor in it (Assuming everyone of us develop in the same speed), of cos someone older will be more mature. But when I take a 30 year old executive and a not-that-mature 25 yo young entrepreneur comparing them side by side really makes me wonder if it is the case. To me, I find that both equally have chance. Or rather the 25yo has the upper hand even if the 25yo is not that mature compared to the 30yo. The 30yo executive is also not a bad choice. 30 fora man is the at the peak of his career, showing sign of maturity, success. Of cos there is quite a fair bit of sssumption made like both are able to take care of their emotional needs and etc. Since both are equally successful in their own way. How about having a very mature 30yo but only earning $2k/mth. Which guy will the woman be attracted to?

This leads me to another question are money and maturity are 2 separate entity (Really confusing huh)? So maybe for now I am just a anybody with big dreams and being “immature” in many woman eyes but who knows in a year time, I made it and become a multi-millaionaire. All of the sudden, am I going to be elevated to being “mature” in the eyes of women?

I guess to a women, behind the word mature, there are a lot of hidden agendas. Being mature means being able to take good care of her, being romantic, provide her the security and other satisfaction in life. And all these needs some form of money (don’t cheat yourself if you think otherwise). Regarding to this topic, I will have to bring in Human Instinct by Robert Winston again. I think my friend Albert has written a very good summary of what it is about. Albert and I after a long discussion conclude that the primitive form of a hunter ability to bring in food to family has not changed but transformed to the form of money in the modern times.

When woman are saying they are looking for mature man. Guys, please don’t take what they say word for word. It’s just a politically correct word to use. So for now I guess I still need to learn how to be a good hunter and study hard for my exam. Score some good grades and work in government agencies, bring in security in order to become the so-called mature guy in the eyes of women.

It’s complicated (again)

July 29th, 2007

Haven’t you seen this phrase all the time. Msn, Friendster etc. Its been overused by women to a certain extend. Everything to them is complicated. It is such an irony that they find guys complicated too. They want their guys to know what they are thinking and tell them straight. This is absolutely impossible. You think we guys are born with antenna to catch the radio waves they send out huh?

Women likes to play mind games too much and yet they lament that things are too complicated. C’mon guy is the victim. What is there for you to lament when you are the source of problem.

Both sexes are so different in so many aspect. But when mars met venus, it becomes a rather interesting subject. I still remember my minor professor taught us that a good business is like Starbucks and Dell that are able to link two conflicting values together in a meaningful way. Many companies aren’t able to do it. When I put the same principle to relationship, I can understand why so many couples break out. lol

I don’t think any of us guys are able to understand women for the next decade, even next century. Women are the hardest creature on earth to understand. Sometimes I even don’t really understand my mom.

Unfair treatment

July 28th, 2007

I feel particularly injustice by the fact that pretty people are always treated so much better than others. My 3 months internship showed the full colour of human nature.

I am working in a company and had quite an enjoyable experience over there. Everyone is so nice, the working environment is great. But during my supposedly last week of my internship (cos I was given a time-extension of 2 more weeks), my pretty female intern has been given a treat by “he shall not be said” (a bit like harry potter’s voldemort huh) in a Japanese restaurant on the her last day. I wasn’t in the mood to talk too much though cos I was rushing for my report at that point of time. I thought to myself that it’s been so nice of him to treat us such good food.

Little did I know is RIGHT after she GONE, CHANGE happens dramatically too (Even though I was taught in school the only constant is change. But I still get piss off when I see this thing happen to my friend and I). Suddenly everything click in my brain. I now observe a pattern. Supervisors use to work till she leaves before they decides to leave too. We were abandoned in the faraway office and all the supervisors either shifted back to work in the office nearer to the city area or are taking leave. Such coincidence huh. My poor friend leaving yesterday, don’t even get call from “he shall not be said” or the other supervisors. GREAT! I thought (sarcastically). What if this colleague turns out to be a fat ugly pig, will she still be treated so nice?

This appears to be a very good display of what HUMAN INSTINCT is. No matter how good a person appears to be, there is always a motive behind it especially to pretty girls. From now on, I will remind myself not to fall into this trap.

How To Talk To Anyone By Leil Lowndes

July 28th, 2007

I fell in love with this book as soon as I laid my hand on it It caught my attention when it has been second best selling books in Borders for weeks (I dunno how long but it must have been more than 3 months).

It is a practical guide containing 92 tricks for people who wants to communicate with anyone in any situation. 92 seems a bit tat too many. Who the hell can one remember 92 tricks at the back of their mind? When their brains are searching through for things to talk? No worry, I particularly like some of the tricks very well. Some of the tricks are no-brainer for example technique 20 parroting which goes like this …

He: How did you spend your wkend?
She: Yup. I’ve been at esplanade watching an art performances by Pavarrotti
He (thinking): Shit! What is that?!! I don’t know a god damn thing abt that whatever Pavarrotti. Nevermind lets just use the parroting technique by Leil and pray it works.
He: Pavarrotti?
She: The best male opera singer in the world
He: Opera?

And you know girl loves to talk and he’s saved from this awkward situation.

Great technique right? There’s so many things you can learn from this book to be a really good communicator. And it cost me only S$16 (after 30% discount though ) ^_^. But before i accept what it’s written, I will test this out on some of my friends. Keke
