Is mature guy what women are really looking for?

July 30th, 2007

Been hearing times and times again that women are looking for mature man. Even though I’m a monk and shouldn’t be talking about all these but curiosity really prompt me to investigate what really contribute to a man that is mature in the eyes of the woman. Is it really mature guys they are looking for or is it something else?

According to dictionary.com, mature means a person that has a fully developed in body or mind. So I guess age is an factor in it (Assuming everyone of us develop in the same speed), of cos someone older will be more mature. But when I take a 30 year old executive and a not-that-mature 25 yo young entrepreneur comparing them side by side really makes me wonder if it is the case. To me, I find that both equally have chance. Or rather the 25yo has the upper hand even if the 25yo is not that mature compared to the 30yo. The 30yo executive is also not a bad choice. 30 fora man is the at the peak of his career, showing sign of maturity, success. Of cos there is quite a fair bit of sssumption made like both are able to take care of their emotional needs and etc. Since both are equally successful in their own way. How about having a very mature 30yo but only earning $2k/mth. Which guy will the woman be attracted to?

This leads me to another question are money and maturity are 2 separate entity (Really confusing huh)? So maybe for now I am just a anybody with big dreams and being “immature” in many woman eyes but who knows in a year time, I made it and become a multi-millaionaire. All of the sudden, am I going to be elevated to being “mature” in the eyes of women?

I guess to a women, behind the word mature, there are a lot of hidden agendas. Being mature means being able to take good care of her, being romantic, provide her the security and other satisfaction in life. And all these needs some form of money (don’t cheat yourself if you think otherwise). Regarding to this topic, I will have to bring in Human Instinct by Robert Winston again. I think my friend Albert has written a very good summary of what it is about. Albert and I after a long discussion conclude that the primitive form of a hunter ability to bring in food to family has not changed but transformed to the form of money in the modern times.

When woman are saying they are looking for mature man. Guys, please don’t take what they say word for word. It’s just a politically correct word to use. So for now I guess I still need to learn how to be a good hunter and study hard for my exam. Score some good grades and work in government agencies, bring in security in order to become the so-called mature guy in the eyes of women.
