So why did Thaksin went back?
Former Thai premier returned to Thailand yesterday and was sent to court. It remains to be seen if he can escape charges on corruption and rebel against the king.
In my opinion, it is highly unlikely that he will be granted amnesty (by the king he wanted to overthrow). In question pop up my mind: why is he returning back and face the possibility of being charged and throw o jail while he can still enjoy managing his ManCity soccer team?
One possibility is that he is very confident of escaping through the loopholes in law.
Another possibility is that he is threatened under certain circumstances and hence the need to return back.
The last possible I can think of is he loves his country very much and throughout the whole incident, he may just be a victim and by all means he wanted to clear his name of the various charges.
So what do you think?
